Action Required

Some carrier portals interrupt a quote in progress. The carrier texts a verification code, or asks an underwriting question that could not be answered from the submitted data. QuoteSweep pauses that job and waits for an agent.

These are not failures

A paused job is a quote that is most of the way finished. Rendering it as an error loses quotes that would otherwise bind. Give it a distinct state in your interface, alongside the deep link.

How It Surfaces

A job in this state carries status: "mfa_waiting", or terminates with an errorType of uwq_unanswered or uwq_aborted, plus an actionRequired object:

If you registered webhooks, the same event arrives as quote.action_required without waiting for a poll.

What Your Platform Should Do

  1. Show the job in an action-required state, visually distinct from both success and failure.
  2. Present the deepLink as the primary action. The agent completes the step in QuoteSweep; there is no API to submit a code or an answer in v1.
  3. Keep polling, or keep listening for webhooks. Once the agent resolves the step the job resumes and finishes normally, and results arrive as usual.
  4. Do not resubmit the quote request. Creating a new request starts the carrier submission over from the beginning.

Why This Cannot Be Removed

QuoteSweep quotes by driving real carrier portals with the agency's credentials. Where a carrier enforces MFA that cannot be automated, or asks a question no data source could pre-answer, a person has to act. Plan for agents having QuoteSweep access alongside your platform — the integration starts and tracks the work rather than replacing the quoting workflow.
